MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) - China's mutual visa-free travel with Belarus has been in effect since 2018, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Zhang Wenchuan told BelTA.
BelTA asked whether anything had changed for Belarus since China had extended the stay duration for foreign nationals eligible for visa-free transit from 72 hours and 144 hours, to 240 hours (10 days) for citizens of 54 states.

“China has continued to expand the list of unilateral visa-free
countries since 2023, which now includes 38 states,” the diplomat said.
“At the same time, the Chinese side continues to soften and optimize the
visa-free transit policy, under which a 240-hour transit visa-free
period was introduced for citizens of 54 states.”
"The relaxation and optimization of China's visa-free transit policy is an important measure to facilitate the movement of citizens between China and foreign countries. It will help speed up the cross-border movement of people and promote exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries," the ambassador stated.
He pointed out that Belarus has been using these advantages for a long time, since 2018: "As for Belarus, China and Belarus have enjoyed mutual visa-free travel since 2018. According to the Belarusian-Chinese agreement, citizens of Belarus who hold regular passports can enter China visa-free and stay there (including transit stays) up to 30 days in one trip, but not more than 90 days a year. I am confident that friendly exchanges between our peoples will provide tremendous support to mutually beneficial cooperation and closer relations between the peoples of the two countries."
