MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation visited the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant 2 to study its operational experience, the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
The delegation included representatives of the Department of Nuclear Energy and the Belarusian NPP. Belarusian specialists visited the unit control room, the turbine hall, and the training center of Leningrad NPP 2. They met with the plant’s management and learned about the operation of VVER 1200 power units, including personnel training, safety culture development, scheduled maintenance, fuel cycle organization, and scientific and technical support. In addition, the Belarusian delegation was briefed on the construction progress of the plant’s new power units.
“Belarusian nuclear professionals regularly visit Russian nuclear power plants, including the Leningrad plant, to exchange experience. Such cooperation is an important part of the work to ensure the reliable and safe operation of nuclear power plants,” said Olga Kozlovich, Head of the Directorate of International Cooperation, Personnel Training, and Information Support of the Department of Nuclear Energy. “The working visit to Leningrad NPP 2 and the discussions on current issues of NPP operation will help introduce best practices in developing nuclear energy infrastructure and will be another step in strengthening Belarus-Russia partnership in nuclear energy.”
