Belarus is actively preparing for the second session of the VII Belarusian People’s Congress. Among the delegates is Yadviga Leshkevich, a machine-milking operator from the Polesskaya Niva farm in Stolin District. She stresses that demographic security must remain a national priority.
Yadviga Leshkevich, 38, has lived her whole life in Stolin District. “I’m from the agro-town of Remel. I started working as a machine-milking operator at 18. I met my husband here. We have three children,” she said.
She followed her mother into the profession and learned the work early, helping on the farm as a child. Colleagues describe her as a dedicated and skilled professional. Over the years, agricultural practices have modernized, with new dairy facilities replacing older methods.
“In Belarus, a lot is being done to make life in villages as comfortable as in cities. People here work hard, many farm their own land, grow berries and vegetables, everything is local,” she noted.
According to her, the future of rural Belarus depends on creating conditions that encourage young people to stay, work, and raise families. “In Stolin District, it’s traditional to have large families. This strengthens demographic security, and Belarus has all the conditions for that,” she said.
Yadviga Leshkevich has already taken part in the Belarusian People’s Congress session. “People want peace and stability. We must stay united and take part in shaping the future of our Belarus,” she concluded.
