Belarusian forensics experts, Syrian Ministry of Interior agree to cooperate

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) - The Belarusian State Forensic Examination Committee (SFEC) and the Ministry of Interior of Syria have agreed on cooperation in forensics. The appropriate memorandum was signed during a visit of the SFEC delegation headed by Deputy Chairman, Major General of Justice Sergei Yevmenenko to the Syrian ministry, BelTA learned from the SFEC press service.

"During the visit to Damascus, the Belarusian delegation and the Ministry of Interior of Syria signed a memorandum of understanding which provides for the development of cooperation in forensics," the press service said.

During the visit, Sergei Yevmenenko met with Syrian Interior Minister Mohammad Khaled al-Rahmoun and Director of the Criminal Security Department at the Ministry of Interior of Syria Hussein Jomaa to discuss the key promising areas of cooperation.

“During the meetings, agreements were reached on the training of Syrian experts at the Institute of Further Training and Retraining of the Personnel at the Belarusian State Forensic Examination Committee,” the press service added. “The parties also agreed to send Belarusian forensic experts to the Criminal Security Department to train Syrian experts on the spot."

The two departments established mutually beneficial cooperation during a visit of Syrian colleagues from the Ministry of Interior to the Belarusian State Forensic Examination Committee on 19-23 August 2019.
