CHOLPON-ATA, 26 August (BelTA) - The EAEU and the CIS are waiting for integration proposals from the youth, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko said at a meeting with participants of the EAEU and the CIS Youth Forum, BelTA has learned.

The key event of the EAEU and CIS Youth Forum is a meeting of its participants with deputy heads of government of the EAEU countries, Chairman of the EAEU Board Mikhail Myasnikovich and Chairman of the Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev.

“The enthusiasm and energy that are present at the forum inspire even closer integration in all directions. It is pleasant that we gathered here at Kyrgyzstan's initiative that was supported by all countries. Today it is a great honor for us to welcome the youth of the EAEU member states. We are ready to discuss and adjust the development of Eurasian integration and integration within the CIS to the needs of young people. I believe you have already exchanged views on how various approaches are developing in our countries. Youth policy is the most important element of the state policy. A lot of attention is paid to it in Belarus; there is a strategy till 2030 and a relevant program under implementation,” Igor Petrishenko said.

In his words, Belarus strongly supports young people and youth initiatives. “According to the decision of the head of state, scholarships are allocated to the country's best students. A social movement is actively developed. The government maintains partnership relations with the Belarusian Youth Union and the Belarusian Pioneer Organization. We have preserved all key aspects of interaction which were effective to unite our youth. So, there is a synergy of the youth component and state support in all the areas. There is a volunteer movement, and assistance to young families. We create all conditions for people to develop. It is important that we share these positive practices at our forum. We are waiting for suggestions from young people as to what else we need to do within the framework of the EAEU and the CIS to ensure that integration keeps developing,” the deputy prime minister said.
