MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) - The United States looks forward to continuing cooperation in combating drug trafficking with Belarusian colleagues, Regional Director of the the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) at the U.S. Department of Justice William Warren Jr. said at a ceremony to sign Belarus-U.S. documents at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 21 May, BelTA has learned.
The regional director noted that drug trafficking is not the problem of one country but the entire world. Therefore, it is only by joint efforts that we can inflict significant damage and destroy organizations engaged in drug trafficking, he noted.
Today marked the first step in this direction, William Warren Jr. said. In the future Belarus and the United States will jointly fight drug-related crime, conduct trainings and other events. “I look forward to building effective relations in this area,” the regional director added.
