MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia are working on two new space-related scientific and technical programs, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus Sergei Shlychkov said in an interview with BelTA.
“The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus together with the Russian state space industry corporation Roscosmos have developed proposals for promising space programs Resurs-SG and Kosmodozor-SG. The Kosmodozor-SG program will make it possible to develop basic elements of systems to forecast the emergence of forest fires, their identification, spreading trends, damage assessments based on forest inventory and space monitoring data,” Sergei Shlychkov said.
The scientific and technical program Resurs-SG implies the development of elements of onboard systems and equipment, as well as composite materials and structures that will increase the life of spacecraft in the future. This program is almost ready. The responsible executors will be the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Russian Space Research Institute.
