Belarus, Qatar discuss plans to reinvigorate trade, economic contacts

MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) – During the visit of the delegation of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the State of Qatar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov held a number of bilateral meetings on 22 January to thrash out plans to reinvigorate the bilateral trade, economic cooperation and investments, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
 
Substantive negotiations were held with Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Free Zones Authority of the State of Qatar Ahmad Al-Sayed, Assistant Governor (Supervision) at the Qatar Central Bank Hamad Ahmad Al-Mulla, Assistant Undersecretary for Commerce Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar Saleh bin Majed Al-Khulaifi, as well as management of the Qatar Financial Center. The parties discussed ways to ramp up trade and identify promising areas of interaction.
 
In addition to that, Evgeny Shestakov met with Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Climate Change and Sustainability Bader Omar Ismail Al Dafa and Expo 2023 Doha Secretary-General Mohammed Ali Al Khouri. He also studied the work of the expo and national pavilions of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Italy and Kyrgyzstan.
