MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) - Belarus sent its first major shipment of pharmaceuticals to Myanmar at the end of this week, BelTA learned from the press service of the Healthcare Ministry.
The shipment to Myanmar featured the medications produced by Belmedpreparaty for cancer patients, antiviral and antibacterial drugs and medications from other therapeutic groups. All in all, this large-scale shipment comprised 15 tonnes of pharmaceuticals worth over $160,000.
The Healthcare Ministry noted that the shipment has been made in furtherance of the agreements reached at the business forum held ahead of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s visit to Myanmar.
According to Belarusian Healthcare Minister Aleksandr Khodzhayev, delivering medicines to Myanmar clearly demonstrates that with two nations committed, the cooperation can produce tangible, beneficial results.
