MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) - Belarus sold more than 4,300 cubic meters of lumber to the UK market, Belarus' First Deputy Forestry Minister Valentin Shatravko told the media at a press conference on 15 September.
“If we talk about export in general, the potential has remained almost the same, but now we are moving towards the expansion of the number of countries where we export our products. We mainly export lumber products, pellets, and also debarked wood in small quantities,” the first deputy minister said.
In his words, European countries are regular customers of the forestry enterprises of Belarus. “Recently we have been actively cooperating in this area with China. Besides, we have entered the premium market of the UK, where we have sold more than 4,300 cubic meters of lumber. We are doing our best to develop different areas in the sale of our products,” Valentin Shatravko said.
