The chairman of the Constitutional Court added that citizens of the Republic of Belarus and all state institutions are called upon to defend the chosen path of development, the sovereignty of the state, and other constitutional values.
“The current geopolitical situation is characterized by the devaluation of international law, the degradation of the system of international relations established after the Second World War, unprecedented interference by certain states in the internal affairs of other states, including through the use of military force, and the arbitrary imposition, unilaterally, of unlawful and restrictive measures (sanctions) aimed at coercing changes in domestic and foreign policies,” Sergei Sivets stated.
In this context, he noted, the comprehensive safeguarding of the inviolability of the constitutional order - the paramount task of the state, society, and every citizen - is expressed through the protection of Belarusian state sovereignty, the strengthening of national security, the practical implementation of the constitutional principle of popular rule, the free exercise by citizens of the constitutional rights and freedoms guaranteed by the state, and the unwavering fulfillment of constitutional duties.
