KLIMOVICHI, 24 January (BelTA) – Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi outlined what may change in approaches to rural housing construction during his visit to the Klimovichi District, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Krutoi began his working visit to Mogilev Oblast in the Vishov agrotown in Belynichi District. There, he reviewed the housing construction practices in use at the Kolkhoz Rodina agricultural production cooperative. “We now replicate the standard, cost-effective solutions of this enterprise not only across Mogilev Oblast but throughout the entire country,” he noted. “Here, they build using in-house construction methods not only facilities like health centers or dairy farms but have also started building housing for their workers as a kind of viable alternative to classic rental housing.”

This approach helps to retain people in large agrotowns with effective production by using their own building solutions. “We have seen the first few houses today. It is an interesting experience. We still need to study the economic and regulatory aspects in more detail, talk to people, and then report to the president, possibly to further replicate this rural housing initiative,” Dmitry Krutoi said.
The head of the Belarus President Administration also noted that Decree No.346 was previously in effect, but it is now time to consider how to properly transform it, taking into account the balance of price, quality, and modern consumer demands. Because standard mass construction is not suitable for such individual solutions. With the development of electricity consumption, electric houses are emerging in rural areas. “Recently, while appointing chairpersons of district executive committees, the president tasked them with thinking about how to optimize the infrastructure related to electricity consumption, scaling it up for the larger amount of housing we build,” Dmitry Krutoi emphasized. “The task is to achieve a cumulative effect of cost savings. Because, in any case, all this ultimately affects the final price per square meter we offer to our citizens.”

Dmitry Krutoi pointed out that the houses built using the in-house method in Vishov will be occupied by large families. In his opinion, the housing program in the country should be structured in such a way that large families are encouraged to settle in the regions. Vishov could become an example of this approach.
