Belarus, China keen to enhance cooperation in digitalization

MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) - Belarus and China intend to expand cooperation in digital transformation. This was discussed during negotiations between Belarus’ Deputy Communications and Informatization Minister Tatiana Ruskevich and the first vice mayor of Karamay, the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China, BelTA learned from the Communications and Informatization Ministry of Belarus. 

The parties explored promising areas of cooperation, including digitalization across different industries, artificial intelligence implementation, and IT workforce training.

Tatiana Ruskevich emphasized that Belarus places great importance on its partnership with China. She shared details about the ministry’s programs and agreements related to Belarus-China cooperation.

The Chinese side invited the ministry leadership to participate in the fourth meeting of heads of ministers and departments of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) member states responsible for the development of information and communication technologies, as well as in the China-SCO Forum on Digital Technologies Innovation and Development, scheduled for mid-June in Karamay.

The parties agreed to continue their discussions during the visit of the Belarusian delegation from the Communications and Informatization Ministry to Karamay in June to attend the SCO events.
