Belarus' ambassador meets with deputy speaker of Russia's Federation Council

MOSCOW, 8 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi and Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia's Federal Assembly Yury Vorobyov discussed Belarus-Russia cooperation prospects and integration processes within the Union State of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

“The parties discussed preparations for the visit to Moscow of a parliamentary delegation led by Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova, as well as preparations for the 10th edition of the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia to be held in Ufa in 2023. Topical issues of the domestic and foreign political agenda were also discussed,” the press service informed.

Dmitry Krutoi emphasized the special role of parliaments in legislative support of 28 Union State programs. More than 400 regulations and bilateral agreements are to be adopted in order to implement these programs. “During the discussion of the preparations for the 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, the ambassador expressed confidence that Belarusian and Russian senators will make a significant contribution to expanding interregional cooperation and strengthening bilateral contacts. Yury Vorobyov believes that ‘the tenth anniversary forum should highlight the milestones of the dialogue and cooperation between the regions of the two countries, outline cooperation prospects for the future',” the press service added.
