Avia Traffic Company performs maiden flight to Minsk from Bishkek

MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) – Minsk National Airport held a welcome ceremony to mark the launch of a new regular flight Bishkek - Minsk - Bishkek by the Kyrgyz airline Avia Traffic Company, BelTA learned from the press service of the air harbor.

"The Kyrgyz company performed the first flight from Bishkek to Minsk using an Airbus A320. The aircraft was welcomed with a water salute. The crew, the airline's management and passengers were treated to a traditional welcome of bread and salt," the press service said.

The first passenger of the new flight received gifts from the airport. It was Russian citizen Viktor Babaikin. Deputy General Director of the airport Vasily Kornev gave him a certificate for free service in the VIP lounge of the airport during a year and corporate souvenirs.

Vyacheslav Khoroneko, Director General of Minsk National Airport, welcomed the launch of the direct flight between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan and said: “Establishing cooperation with a new partner is always a landmark event for us. For the first time in the history of our airport we are opening a regular direct flight between Bishkek and Minsk. Cooperation between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan in the political, economic and humanitarian affairs has been vibrant in recent years. We are convinced that the launch of the direct regular air service between our countries will not only attract tourist and business passengers, but will also contribute to cooperation between our countries in many other industries.”

Flights will be operated from Manas International Airport, Bishkek to Minsk National Airport on Tuesdays, with departure from Manas, Bishkek at 6:50 and arrival in Minsk at 8:40. Return flights from Minsk are scheduled at 10:25 with the arrival time in Bishkek at 18:30. Time for all airports is local.

Passengers permitted to fly under current epidemiological restrictions will be allowed on board.
