MINSK, 1 January (BelTA) – Russia has never had a plan to destroy Ukraine, but Moscow objects to the Ukrainian territory being used as a military base. The political analyst, military expert, and former Israeli state figure Yakov Kedmi made the relevant statement in a recent episode of BelTA’s YouTube project On Point.
Commenting on recent developments on the battlefield in Ukraine, Yakov Kedmi said he was certain that Russia had never had any plans to destroy Ukraine. Russia objects to Ukraine being used as a military threat. “If Ukraine is no longer used as a military base and a threat to Russia, there will be no problems. After all, there hadn’t been any before. Despite what was happening in Ukraine, Russia did not try to do anything,” Yakov Kedmi pointed out.
He explained that he was referring to the West’s attempts to turn Ukraine into a Nazi state with a Russophobic ideology, which, the expert believes, has reached the level of anti-Semitism in Nazi Germany. “The form is the same. Only in Ukraine it is not about Jews, but about Russians,” Yakov Kedmi said. “They haven’t gotten to the point of extermination yet, but the Nazis began exterminating Jews only in 1941. Before that all the elements that are visible in Ukraine today were also present in Nazi Germany. Attempts were made to remove Jews from public and political life.”
