Action plan to safeguard EAEU drug supplies up for public debate

MOSCOW, 29 September (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Commission has put out for public debate a draft action plan that seeks to safeguard supplies of essential medicines and pharmaceutical substances in the Eurasian Economic Union member states, official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission Iya Malkina told a briefing on 29 September, BelTA has learned.

Discussion of the draft action plan is taking place on the EAEU legal website, it will last until 13 October. “The document is needed to boost cooperation in developing advanced, innovative and competitive products in the pharmaceutical industry,” the EEC representative explained.

The same deadline applies to public discussion of the documents regulating the exchange of electronic veterinary certificates. “The goals and objectives of the process are to improve the efficiency of veterinary control and to ensure the transparency of the application of veterinary and sanitary measures and traceability of goods,” Iya Malkina said.

In addition, the discussion of Russia's proposal to increase the import duty from 0% to 5% for certain types of concrete mixers and mortar mixers for 3 years will also be running until 17 October. This proposal is aimed at supporting manufacturers of the EAEU countries.

“We encourage everyone to send their remarks and suggestions to the commission,” Iya Malkina added.
