About 99% of Minsk Oblast residents have access to quality drinking water

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – About 99% of Minsk Oblast residents have access to quality drinking water, BelTA learned from the Minsk Oblast Housing and Public Utilities Company.

“In 2024, 36 water deferrization stations and 3 water intake wells were constructed. At present, about 99% of consumers have access to quality drinking water,” the company said.

Last year, the region’s housing and utilities enterprises replaced more than 110 km of water supply and sewerage networks, and completed work on re-laying 83.9 km of heating networks.

“The boiler infrastructure was upgraded; it switched to local fuels in order to reduce consumption of natural gas. Currently, local fuels are used by about 37% of the boiler houses of the housing and utilities sector of Minsk Oblast,” the company added.
