
MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko appointed Yuri Gorlov as Agriculture and Food Minister as he made new appointments on 4 March, BelTA has learned.
Yuri Gorlov was born in the village of Lubenki, Surazh District, Bryansk Oblast, Russian Federation in 1977.
In 2000 he graduated from Bryansk State Agricultural Academy, in 2009 - from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus.
In 2000-2001 he began his career as a zootechnician in the Komsomolets collective farm in Pukhovichi District, then worked as chief zootechnician at the Bolshevik collective farm in Volozhin District, Minsk Oblast. In 2001-2010 he held the position of chief zootechnician and head of the Livestock Department of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
In 2010-2012 he took office as First Deputy Chairman, Head of the Agriculture and Food Department of the Uzda District Executive Committee of Minsk Oblast.
In 2012-2013 he was appointed Head of the Pedigree Breeding Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. In 2013-2014 he held office as First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
From 2014 to 2018 he worked as Chairman of the Stolbtsy District Executive Committee, from 2018 to 2023 – as Chairman of the Molodechno District Executive Committee.
From 2023 to 2025 he served as Aide to the President of the Republic of Belarus - Inspector for Gomel Oblast.
On 4 March 2025 he was appointed Agriculture and Food Minister.
Yuri Gorlov has been awarded the Medal for Impeccable Service Third Class.
