MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – The interaction the EAEU is one of the key priorities of Uzbekistan's policy, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the online meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on 21 May, BelTA has learned.
“The interaction with the Eurasian Economic Union is one of the key priorities of Uzbekistan's policy. Within a short period of participation as an observer we have managed to build efficient contacts with the Eurasian Economic Commission,” the Uzbekistan leader said.
In his words, there is a big potential for the further enhancement of trade relations. “We are ready to maintain active cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission and the EAEU member states to eliminate barriers and further approximate non-tariff measures of regulation in trade,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
He is convinced that the vigorous development of production cooperation will have a positive impact on the development of the economy and will allow branching out into the markets of third countries together. “We see a big potential of cooperation in the real production sector of the economy and in ensuring food security,” the president of Uzbekistan said.
According to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan mulls over the possibility to take part in the operation of a number of digital platforms in the EAEU, including on the tax and customs administration.
“For Uzbekistan it is important to reach concrete results in cooperation with the EAEU as an observer,” the Uzbekistani leader stressed.
