Lukashenko sends Happy Easter greetings to Patriarch Kirill, Metropolitan Veniamin

MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has wished Happy Easter to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The Resurrection of Christ is a greatest event that epitomizes the triumph of life and the Creator's love for humans. The joy of these days, filled with goodness and light, is sincerely shared by millions of people. Your tireless work to preserve Christian values and to strengthen inter-faith and inter-ethnic peace is highly appreciated on Belarusian soil,” the message reads.

The head of state wished Patriarch Kirill good health, spiritual harmony and success in all his undertakings.

The Belarusian president also sent Easter greetings to Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.

“The Resurrection of Christ holds a special place in the soul of every believer; it fills the world with love and forgiveness, proves the existence of eternal life and shows the way to salvation,” the congratulatory message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the Belarusian land and Christianity have been inextricably linked for centuries. “Today, continuing the honorable traditions of the great ascetics of the Orthodox Church, you teach people true values, warm their hearts with kind words,” the president emphasized.

The head of state wished the Patriarchal Exarch good health, endless spiritual strength and God's help in all his undertakings.
