MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) - We celebrated the New Year holidays without incidents, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with governors and the Minsk mayor on 3 January, BelTA has learned.
“December and January are often challenging months for the authorities. It is clear: people want a break during New Year's and Christmas holidays after hard working days. It is natural. Man shall not live by bread alone,” the Belarusian leader said.
“It seems that we celebrated the holidays without any incident. We have registered no incident even in Minsk. People had fun and were happy despite the weather,” the head of state said.
