Lukashenko: Modern highways are one of Belarus’ hallmarks

MINSK, 26 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated workers and veterans of road transport and road services on their professional holiday, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The Belarusian people are accustomed to traveling in comfort and take pride in the modern highways that together with high-quality infrastructure are one of the hallmarks of our country,” the message of congratulations said. “Over the past five-year period, 18,000 kilometers of roads have been renovated across the country. Minsk is connected to almost all regional centers by fast, reliable highways, and work to improve them continues almost without breaks for weekends or holidays. Bridges and overpasses are being repaired, while convenient interchanges and underground pedestrian crossings are being designed. Freight and passenger transport organizations and vehicle service stations are also developing.”

The head of state expressed confidence that the knowledge and experience of the nation's transport and road workers will continue to enable them to successfully tackle the challenges facing the industry, including the search for new logistical solutions.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished everyone good health, prosperity, and success in the implementation of their plans.
