MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) - The Belarus-Russia Union State needs to defend itself against information threats from the outside, which are a result of direct aggression against Russia and Belarus, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova said in an interview with the BelRos TV Channel, TASS informs.
“It is important to defend ourselves from those information threats, which have long been a consequence of direct aggression against our countries,” said Maria Zakharova.
In her words, the two countries also need to develop new means of mass communication, which will require joint work in different areas.
“This requires both a legislative framework and cooperation between our various departments and, of course, the Union State bodies. It is necessary to actively develop the resources that we have in order to involve modern forms of communication,” said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Maria Zakharova added that the preservation of peace will be the main task for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs next year. The diplomat noted that the state of peace in the international arena is often mistakenly perceived as a natural state of affairs, whereas in fact the preservation and maintenance of peace is a daunting task. “Peace must be fought for, it is an absolutely unnatural state for our planet, it is a state that must be achieved, and it must be done professionally,” Maria Zakharova stressed.
