Union State Council of Ministers to discuss draft Military Doctrine, roaming charges

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – The draft Military Doctrine and prospects to drop roaming charges in the Union State will be discussed at the meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers in Brest. The agenda that includes 30 issues will be considered at a meeting of the High-Level group of the Union State Council of Ministers in Minsk on 14 November, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told the media, BelTA has learned.

The agenda of the Union State Council of Ministers meeting, which is to take place in Brest on 13 December, includes several groups of issues. The Union State Council of Ministers will consider the draft Military Doctrine, discuss trends in trade and economic cooperation, the development of the mechanical engineering sector and agriculture. The meeting will also highlight the theme of dropping roaming charges in the Union State. The High-Level Group, and then the Union State Council of Ministers will be presented with information on how the work is proceeding in this direction, the state secretary said.

The Council of Ministers of the Union State is expected to approve the draft budget for 2019. The document has yet to go through the Parliaments. It will then be adopted by the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State.

A number of issues will be dedicated to cooperation in science and technology. “The Council of Ministers will also approve the list of priorities in science and technology. Belarus and Russia will work along these priorities as they implement Union State programs,” Grigory Rapota added.
