Slovakian parliamentary delegation to visit Belarus on 20-22 October

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – A Slovakian parliamentary delegation will visit Belarus on 20-22 October. The delegation will include Robert Madej, Chairman of the Parliamentary Constitutional Committee, head of the friendship group with Belarus in the National Council of Slovakia, and Lubos Blaga, Chairman of the European Affairs Committee, head of Slovakia's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.

The Slovakian MPs are scheduled to meet with Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives Boleslav Pirshtuk and Head of the Legislation Commission Natalia Guyvik. “The parties are set to discuss ways to enhance interparliamentary cooperation, including via developing contacts between commissions of the two parliaments in order to exchange information and experience,” the press service noted.

The Slovakian delegation will also meet with members of the Council of the Republic and senior officials of the Law Department and the International Relations Department of Belarusian State University. Lubos Blaga will give a lecture for the BSU teaching staff and students.

The delegation will also visit the National Olympic Freestyle Skiing Center. The Slovakian MPs will get familiar with the unique sport facility and will study the opportunity for foreign athletes to train there.
