Security chief: Belarus sees no political steps by Ukraine to resolve conflict

MOSCOW, 21 September (BelTA) - Belarus sees no political steps on the part of Ukraine to resolve the conflict, State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich told the media, BelTA has learned.

"The crisis in Ukraine needs to be resolved as soon as possible. There is only one way here: by peaceful means, through peace talks. Unfortunately, today we in Belarus do not see positive steps on the part of the Ukrainian political leadership who are, apparently, acting at the behest of the West, primarily the United States. The Americans are far away. They absolutely do not care about what is happening in Europe, what is happening in Ukraine, that people and brothers are dying," Aleksandr Volfovich said.

"This is probably one of the most dangerous situations today. It is necessary to put an end to this armed conflict," he stressed.
