MOSCOW, 28 May (BelTA) – Banning flights through Belarus for political reasons is utterly irresponsible and jeopardizes passengers' safety, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, BelTA has learned.
“The actions of Western countries – banning flights through Belarus' air space for political reasons – are utterly irresponsible and jeopardize the safety of passengers,” Maria Zakharova posted on her Facebook account.
Nowadays, the policy of the European Union is getting more and more devoid of common sense, she noted. “While being sluggish in solving some important issues, the European political beau monde was quick to change routes of hundreds of flights within one day, causing considerable inconveniences to citizens,” Maria Zakharova said.
“Brussels should finally learn to take effective measures to ensure real, not illusory safety of citizens,” she added.
