SAINT PETERSBURG, 21 December (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Union has firmly established itself as one of independent and self-sufficient powerhouses, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a narrow-format meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, BelTA has learned.

“Cooperation within the EAEU, which has firmly established itself as one of the independent and self-sufficient centers of the emerging multipolar world, continues to develop steadily,” the Russian president said.

Vladimir Putin specifically highlighted the growth in mutual trade, investment exchanges, and the deepening of industrial cooperation between member states. “All of this delivers tangible benefits to each of our nations, improves the quality of life of our citizens, and, overall, helps ensure the economic stability and resilience of our five countries and the wider Eurasian region. This is especially crucial amid ongoing turbulence in the global economy,” he emphasized.

Russia, he stated, highly values its mutually beneficial and multifaceted cooperation with its EAEU partners and is sincerely committed to intensifying efforts for the comprehensive development of ties within the union. “I am confident that all colleagues present share this sentiment,” the Russian leader said, expressing hope that the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council would be productive.
