MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – Belarus supports the efforts of the Palestinian people to build an independent and viable state, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Lukashevich said at an event in the House of Friendship on 29 November to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus believes that the inalienable right of the Palestinians to have their own independent and territorially integral state, coexisting with Israel in peace and security within internationally recognized borders, will certainly be realized,” Sergei Lukashevich emphasized.
He drew attention to the fact that “today, Palestine is recognized as a sovereign state by more than 130 countries, including permanent members of the UN Security Council - Russia and China.”
The first deputy minister of foreign affairs conveyed the message of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. It reads that “de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the soonest achievement of peace and security will contribute to the stability and economic development of Palestine and the entire region.”
Sergei Lukashevich handed the original message of the Belarusian head of state to the Palestinian ambassador.
