Kyrgyzstan calls to remove trade barriers in CIS

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) - Kyrgyzstan is in favor of removing the remaining barriers to trade in the CIS, Kyrgyzstan Acting President Talant Mamytov said as he spoke at the online meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, BelTA has learned.

Talant Mamytov thanked Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee for organizing this meeting where the heads of state will take stock of what was done in this difficult year and set the goals in order to successfully move the integration forward.

Talant Mamytov emphasized the historical significance and role of the CIS in the global community. He believes that setting up the CIS was the only right decision that meets the fundamental interests of the peoples of the participating countries. “Today it is a unique union. The future belongs to such integration associations as the CIS,” he said.

The acting president of Kyrgyzstan also stressed the need to maintain the pace of trade and economic cooperation and reduce existing barriers in trade between the CIS countries.
