MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – The reliability of Belarus-Russia relations, the resolve of the two countries in defending their national interests, including by using military force, were demonstrated in a complicated situation in the world and directly around Belarus and Russia. It was the key political result of the Belarusian-Russian army exercise Allied Resolve 2022. Belarusian Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Viktor Khrenin made the statement as results of the Belarusian-Russian army exercise Allied Resolve 2022 were summed up on 20 February, BelTA has learned.
The defense minister said the exercise had confirmed the ability of Belarusian and Russian militaries to work together to defend the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
“We have no ‘military Schengen' problems that Western countries are trying to resolve now. The Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation have prepared all the infrastructure, the legal aspects have been regulated,” Viktor Khrenin said. He added the Belarusian-Russian army exercise Allied Resolve 2022 had confirmed it.
Viktor Khrenin remarked that military command and control bodies of all the army units operated smoothly regardless of their national affiliation. “We have a common school of thought and common approaches. We act and think in the same ways,” he said.
As far as the evaluation of actions of the troops at the tactical level is concerned, Belarusian and Russian pilots, personnel of mechanized infantry and armored units, paratroopers and special operations units, missile and artillery troops demonstrated cohesive actions.
The necessary level of interoperability was reached. A minimal amount of time is needed for combat shakedown and various adjustments. The command bodies and the troops are ready to do their job right away, the minister noted.
In his words, all the logistics matters were addressed on the whole. The logistics train performed effectively. The current foundation allows creating and reinforcing any coalition forces regardless of their strength.
Goals of the Belarusian-Russian army exercise Allied Resolve 2022 have been reached, Viktor Khrenin added. He described actions of the command and control bodies and the troops as “successful accomplishment of their missions”.
