MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – They want to get Belarus involved in an armed conflict not only with Ukraine but also with the West, Deputy Chairman of the Military and Scientific Community public association, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Vladimir Makarov told the On Point online project on BelTA's YouTube channel, BelTA has learned.
Fake information about the participation of the Armed Forces of Belarus in the special operation in Ukraine feeds the rumor mill. “This is done in order to draw Belarus into an armed conflict not so much with Ukraine, but with the West itself,” said Vladimir Makarov.
According to him, Ukraine is being kept in a state of super tension. “As it has been said, the West is ready to fight to the last Ukrainian,” the expert noted.
“There have been provocations in our direction and there can be more of them. Here, we need firmness, vigilance, and readiness to prevent any provocation,” he said.
“We have everything to defend what we have, and no one in the West should have any illusions in this regard. Considering it a metaphysical conflict, the last human values, essentially European ones, have remained only here, in Belarus. Thanks to these values there is a chance not only for us but also for Europe. The eternal question of good and evil is the main one here. Today our country is on the side of good,” the expert said.
