Belarusian-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission to meet in October in Bishkek

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Bishkek will host the 8th meeting of the Belarusian-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in October, the Belarusian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan told BelTA.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan Andrei Strachko met with Nurbek Murashev, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Land Reclamation, Chairman of the Kyrgyz part of the Belarusian-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. The parties reviewed the current state and prospects for trade and economic relations, the organization of the 8th meeting of the Belarus-Kyrgyzstan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

In 2017 the bilateral trade between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $130.1 million, which was up by 2.4 times from 2016. The export totaled $123.5 million (up by 2.5 times), the import – $6.6 million (up by 44.3%). Belarus had a $116.8 million surplus in trade with Kyrgyzstan.
