Belarusian ambassador visits Tatarstan

MOSCOW, 23 September (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Semashko paid a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation on 20-21 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the embassy.

“These days Kazan is hosting the Kazan Digital Week 2021 international forum, an annual platform for scientific, technical and commercial communication of developers and users of digital transformation technologies, products and services. The program of the visit also included a meeting with President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The parties discussed cooperation and implementation of joint projects in economy and industry. The head of Tatarstan confirmed the interest of the republic in strengthening cooperation with Belarus,” the diplomatic mission said.

Belarus is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan. In recent years, Belarus has been among the top foreign trade partners of Tatarstan. The parties have signed an agreement on cooperation and an action plan for 2021-2023. The parties have been cooperating in petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, agro-industrial complex, in the supply of agricultural machinery, high-tech, IT penetration, ecology, and light industry.
