Belarus to attend CIS IPA events in St Petersburg on 21-22 November

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich will take part in the events of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) in St Petersburg on 21-22 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament.

On 21 November, the CIS IPA Council will consider the results of the latest meetings of the CIS Heads of State Council and the CIS Heads of Government Council. “The meeting participants will also discuss work on the draft CIS economic development strategy through 2030, the CIS IPA plan of action to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and also the draft CIS perspective plan of model lawmaking for 2020-2022,” the press service said. The agenda of the meeting will also include election observation in the CIS countries and other matters.

On 22 November, the CIS IPA plenary session will focus on model laws on liability right, advertisement, social and ecological tourism. MPs will talk over draft recommendations on the application of the international humanitarian law concerning counteracting terrorism and violent manifestations of extremism, and on the organization of national enviromental safety centers.

It is planned that during the working trip to St Petersburg Mikhail Myasnikovich will meet with Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko.
