MOSCOW, 18 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia will be strengthening their defense capabilities, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the media following a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Moscow on 18 February, BelTA has learned.
"The topic of strengthening the common defense space of Russia and Belarus was discussed in great detail during today's meeting. We agreed to continue to collectively take all necessary measures to ensure the security of the two countries in the light of the growing military activity of NATO countries on the external borders of the Union State," Vladimir Putin said.
