Belarus, Russia present Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in Geneva

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Sekreta in association with Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Lyubinsky held a briefing for Eurasian partners in Geneva, Switzerland on 25 February, BelTA has learned. The briefing focused on matters concerning the development of the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity is an international document, which development was initiated by Belarus and Russia. The charter is designed to promote the formation of a stable architecture of security and cooperation in the Eurasian space on the basis of the principles of equality and indivisible security as well as the independent and joint resolution of regional problems by Eurasian states without destructive external interference.

Work on the charter is open and inclusive and focuses on strengthening cooperation in four key areas: security, economy, the humanitarian agenda, and civilizational exchange.

A thorough discussion took place during the briefing about filling the charter with content and about procedural matters related to agreeing and promoting the document.
