MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavel Utyupin met with Russia's Permanent Representative to the statutory and other CIS bodies Alexander Lukashevich on 1 April, BelTA learned from by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties touched upon preparations for upcoming CIS events, including the meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council (scheduled for April) and the meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council (cheduled for May).
The parties also reviewed matters related to the activities of the integration association. They reaffirmed their interest in continuing active joint work to deepen cooperation between Belarus and Russia within the CIS framework, including as part of the celebrations to mark the organization’s 35th anniversary.
Pavel Utyupin and Alexander Lukashevich outlined key areas of cooperation to enhance the effectiveness of the CIS and further strengthen its international standing.
