MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Belarus Genet Teshome Jirru, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Maxim Ryzhenkov and Genet Teshome Jirru discussed the main topics on the bilateral agenda while focusing on implementing top-level agreements, including those secured during a meeting of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and the prime minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Moscow in September 2025.
Close attention was paid to practical steps meant to improve trade and economic ties between Belarus and Ethiopia, to the development of a comprehensive roadmap designed to guide cooperation till 2030 and covering primarily agriculture, manufacturing cooperation, and the creation of enterprises in Ethiopia to assemble Belarusian machines and vehicles. Education and personnel training were also mentioned.
The parties confirmed the intention to step up efforts to develop the legal framework of cooperation and also agreed a schedule of upcoming contacts. An agreement was reached on organizing a series of joint events in the near future for the sake of maintaining the political dialogue and invigorating economic interaction.
