MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People’s Republic of China Aleksandr Chervyakov took part in an event organized for the diplomatic corps and dedicated to the promotion of cooperation with Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Beijing told BelTA.
Representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations, the private sector, top officials of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region took part in the meeting. Achievements of the region’s social and economic development and its potential in manufacturing sector, transportation and logistics, agribusiness, and foreign trade were presented during the event.
In his speech the Belarusian ambassador mentioned the progressive advancement of Belarus’ cooperation with Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The importance of interregional interaction as a component of Belarus-China strategic partnership was mentioned. It was noted that the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has a significant potential.

The Belarusian ambassador invited partners to take part in the Belagro 2026 expo in Minsk and confirmed interest in taking part in the China-Eurasia Expo in 2026. The eagerness to expand cooperation in manufacturing sector, agribusiness, logistics and trade and the desire to use opportunities of the Years of Belarus-China Industrial Cooperation were confirmed.
The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is located in China’s north and is home to over 25 million people. It is the largest territorial and administrative unit of the People’s Republic of China in terms of territory. The administrative capital and the largest city is Urumqi.
