MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas met with China's Ambassador to Belarus Cui Qiming on 29 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed preparations for the visit of the Belarusian president to China to take part in the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which is due in Beijing on 25-27 April. The Chinese ambassador noted that the format and planned meetings with the Chinese authorities are determined with the understanding of the exceptionally high level of bilateral relations based on trust, friendship and mutual respect. The deputy minister got Cui Qiming familiar with the preparation of the Belarusian delegation for the participation in the forum.
The parties also focused on the forthcoming visit of China's parliamentary delegation to Belarus in early April. The Chinese delegation will be headed by the deputy chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
Andrei Dapkiunas and Cui Qiming touched upon Belarus-China interaction in multilateral organizations, primarily in the United Nations. They agreed on the importance of improving the coordination of joint actions of the two countries in the main centers of multilateral diplomacy, strengthening the traditions of mutual support and cooperation. The deputy minister and the ambassador considered concrete ways of addressing these tasks by the Belarusian and Chinese diplomats in the short and medium term.
