Belarus-Bulgaria parliamentary ties hailed as robust

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) - The House of Representatives hosted a meeting between the working group of the National Assembly of Belarus on cooperation with the Bulgarian Parliament and members of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Momchil Ivanov and Hristo Dochev on 15 October, BelTA has learned.

The meeting was held to expand inter-parliamentary cooperation, to promote ties in economy, culture, education, tourism, etc. "Traditionally, MPs take an active part in promoting ties between states. Today is a good example of this as the Belarusian Parliament is hosting a delegation of Bulgaria,” said Evgeny Zaitsev, a member of the working group, a member of the Standing Commission on National Security of the House of Representatives. “Parliamentary ties between Belarus and Bulgaria are quite robust and gain momentum every year. We welcome the development of trade and the economies of our states. This is beneficial and useful for future cooperation."

The members of the National Assembly of Bulgaria have already visited Brest Oblast. "The goal is to establish economic ties between the regions of the two countries, to get acquainted with the infrastructure of the region, the infrastructure of Belarus, to conclude contracts with both small and large enterprises. Bulgaria, like us, is an agricultural country. So the interest is mutual," the MP added. "I am sure that our close ties and friendship are the key to stability and peace in our countries."
