On the night of 12 September, Poland placed barbed wire at the Grodno - Kuznica Bialostocka railway border checkpoint. On Friday night, Poland closed all border checkpoints with Belarus. Exactly at midnight, the two railway and one road border checkpoints that had been operating recently ceased their operations.
