Residents of Belarus were able to observe noctilucent clouds (or night shining clouds) in the night sky from 17 to 18 June. These clouds are a relatively rare atmospheric phenomenon. They are extremely thin and form at an altitude of about 80 kilometers above the Earth's surface, becoming visible during deep twilight. Their formation involves meteoric dust, which serves as a nucleus for moisture condensation, resulting in clouds made of ice crystals at altitudes roughly ten times higher than typical tropospheric clouds.
