BREST, 12 May (BelTA) - Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa highly praised the milk processing technologies used in Belarus as he visited Brest Oblast accompanied by Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich and Governor of Brest Oblast Piotr Parkhomchik, BelTA has learned.
During his visit to Brest, the Zimbabwean president toured the Savushkin Product dairy company. "I was very impressed by the technologies used in Belarus. Zimbabwe’s agriculture minister has also visited the plant. I am confident that we will be able to assimilate certain technologies to use them in Zimbabwe," Emmerson Mnangagwa said.
The president laid flowers at the Eternal Flame of the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex and observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland and victims of the Great Patriotic War. He also made an entry in the book of honorary guests. "I am happy to tour this landmark site, which I have read about in history books. It is a great honor to visit it personally. It demonstrates the history of our past and your national heritage. It is a living testament to the bravery of your people," the Zimbabwean leader said.

Emmerson Mnangagwa emphasized Zimbabwe’s interest in close ties with Belarus. "Zimbabwe is a developing country. Certainly, we deeply appreciate when more developed nations offer their help. We seek to cooperate with such countries as much as possible. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and I are close friends. This is why I am here today. Belarus is a very beautiful country. Who wouldn’t want to visit such a picturesque place? I am certainly no exception," he assured.
Piotr Parkhomchik highlighted that Brest Oblast maintains friendly relations not only with neighboring countries but also with all states that build their foreign policy on mutual respect and good neighborliness. The region is interested in cooperation with Zimbabwe. Brest Oblast has made its first deliveries to the African nation this year.
