MINSK, 14 July (BelTA) – Svetlogorsk Pulp and Board Mill sold over 134,000 tonnes of bleached sulphate pulp worth Br131.7 million in H1 2020, which was up by 85.7% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the Telegram channel of the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom.
“Things are busy at Svetlogorsk Pulp and Board Mill. They are now loading a train to China, the ninth one this year. Delivering pulp to the Chinese market by rail is a new logistical solution which Svetlogorsk Pulp and Board Mill began to use in March this year. A train of 41 forty-foot containers delivers more than 1,000 tonnes of pulp to China," Bellesbumprom said.
Rail transport is a better option compared to the traditional delivery through seaports. It takes 1.5-2 months to deliver cargo by sea to China and 16 days by rail.
