State support to Belarusian economy amid COVID-19 pandemic already close to Br23m

BORISOV, 8 July (BelTA) – State support of the economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic is already close to Br23 million. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement as he talked to workers of OAO Borisov Plant of Automotive and Tractor Electrical Equipment (OAO BATE), the managing company of the holding company Automotive Components on 8 July, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko said: “In line with Belarus president decree No.143 preferences and tax exemptions worth about Br23 million have been granted to commercial entities and self-employed businessmen. The process goes on all the time, requests for support are getting analyzed.”

Apart from that, Belarus president decree No.178 on temporary measures of state support for employers and certain categories of citizens has been passed.

Apart from that, the government has decided in favor of selling more machines, vehicles, and equipment on the home market. The measure is supposed to help keep key enterprises busy, Roman Golovchenko added.
