MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – Serbia values Belarusian dump trucks, tractors, and potash fertilizers, Ivan Karić, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and a member of the parliamentary friendship group with Belarus, told BelTA.

“Cooperation with the Republic of Belarus is very important for the Republic of Serbia. We have a long-standing tradition of friendship and cooperation with your country,” Ivan Karić said. “Your products stand out in the best possible way. We know and value your dump trucks, tractors, and also potash fertilizers.”
The MP emphasized that the Belarus tractor is a brand comparable to Mercedes or BMW in the automotive world.

According to him, economic cooperation is key for the presidents of the two countries, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Aleksandar Vučić. “We are working on political and economic issues both in parliament and in the government,” he said.

Ivan Karić noted that the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry places great emphasis on relations with Belarus. “Our farmers know tractors and other Belarusian products very well. When barriers to interaction and communication are removed, especially in transport, it will accelerate cooperation in other areas that our presidents have spoken about,” he said.

Ivan Karić met with members of the Council of the Republic and of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus in Minsk on 19 March. During the meeting, the Serbian MP stressed that for him personally and for the entire Serbian people, one of the significant facts in relations between Belarus and Serbia is the events of 1999, when NATO bombed Serbia without any reason.

“The Serbian people will never forget, will be eternally grateful to the people of Belarus and President Lukashenko for the fact that during the bombings he flew to Belgrade and supported us,” Ivan Karić said.
