MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko spoke about Belarus' investment roadmap in an interview with ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“Advanced manufacturing facilities should be launched in every region, every settlement. Unfortunately, not all regions are ready to do so and not all of them are aware of what they are going to do. We have decided to go this way: if such proposals are not born from below, they will come down from above,” Roman Golovchenko said.
There is no voluntarism in here, the prime minister stressed. “We see what we lack in import substitution. We compare the needs of, say, mechanical engineering, other sectors of the economy with the potential opportunities that exist in these regions. What are their workforce, what industries are underused. Such work is underway, and investment proposals will be formed by the government. The task of the regions will be to implement them,” he said.
“We are talking about strong regions,” Roman Golovchenko added.
